The Rhode Island Civil Rights Enforcement Act (H 7636, S 2675)

We strongly supported this bill which would provide long-overdue mechanisms to enforce the state Constitution’s Declaration of Rights, which “guarantees” the State’s residents critically important civil liberties.

Certification and Decertification of Police Officers (H 7312, S 2215)

Law Enforcement Officer's Bill of Rights (H 7263, S 2096)

As a state with one of the most protective Law Enforcement Officers’ Bill of Rights statutes in the country – imposing numerous barriers to disciplining wayward officers – it is long past time for significant revisions to be made to this law.
