The ACLU and others testified in strong opposition to legislation that would require doctors to perform an ultrasound on a woman who has made the decision to abort and explain, in detail, information about the fetus.

Retailers are currently required by law to post signs where tobacco products are sold to remind minors that it’s illegal for them to purchase cigarettes and other tobacco products. Proposed legislation would require those signs to add a warning to pregnant women that smoking is bad for them.

Two anti-choice bills were heard by House committee this year, but no votes were taken on them.

For the second time in five years, the Senate passed a dangerous bill that would require women to wait at least 24 hours before obtaining an abortion and impose onerous and biased “informed consent” requirements unlike those for any other medical procedure.
