This letter was sent to the RI Supreme Court Chief Justice regarding the lack of adequate language interpreter services in municipal courts across the state.

In response to the letter, the State's Access to Justice Office assembled guidance documents which have now been distributed statewide with respect to determining when an interpreter is needed, how to secure an interpreter, maximizing courtroom communications with an individual whose has limited English proficiency, and more.
