Teacher Certification (H 7419, S 2212A)

We supported legislation which would encourage alternative pathways for teacher certification and would waive certain fees for certification, including those for taking the Praxis exam. We argued, however, that the bill should be amended to include alternatives meeting certification requirements, like an opportunity for a pathway that does not require a passing score on a standardized teacher test. This legislation passed the Senate, but died in the House Education committee.
