Body-Worn Cameras at the Department of Corrections (H 8115, H 8116)

We supported two pieces of legislation regarding the use of body-worn cameras by correctional officers because their use promotes accountability in the correctional setting and serve as a useful oversight tool both for correctional officers and for those who are incarcerated. We did suggest a few amendments, specifically to set standards to ensure activation of these cameras is not misused and a few other language clarifications.
