We strongly supported legislation that eliminates the requirement that an applicant to become a licensed clinical social worker pass a standardized written test to obtain a license.

We strongly supported legislation that eliminates the requirement that an applicant to become a licensed clinical social worker pass a standardized written test to obtain a license, noting that standardized testing can often serve as an unnecessary barrier to occupational licenses and that these tests often have a racially discriminatory impact that depresses the number of students of color who can enter such important fields. Positively, the bill passed!
