Immigrant Protections for Sensitive Locations (H 5652)

We supported legislation which would have provided state-level protection for (not always followed) Department of Homeland Security guidance aimed at prohibiting immigration enforcement in certain “sensitive locations” such as hospitals, religious institutions, and schools.

We supported legislation which would have provided state-level protection for (not always followed) Department of Homeland Security guidance aimed at prohibiting immigration enforcement in certain “sensitive locations” such as hospitals, religious institutions, and schools. The legislation would have ensured that undocumented immigrants can meaningfully and safely take their kids to school, access medical treatment for themselves or loved ones, and attend their houses of worship without fear of harmful immigration consequences. Unfortunately, the bill died in committee.
