Gender Inclusive Bathrooms (S 2557)

This bill would require that all newly constructed single-user public bathroom facilities be gender neutral, and thus allow all Rhode Islanders to access bathrooms in a non-stigmatizing manner.

For individuals who are transgender or gender non-conforming, the ability to access private and safe bathroom facilities is critical. We supported this legislation which would require that all newly constructed single-user public bathroom facilities be gender neutral, and thus allow all Rhode Islanders to access bathrooms in a non-stigmatizing manner.
