This legislation would have expanded the access to a driver’s license to undocumented individuals, ensuring that all residents could make use of safe and reliable transportation to go to work, school, the doctor, or any other necessary locations. Supported by immigrants’ rights groups as well as the State Police, this important bill would have allowed for greater economic mobility for immigrants and would have promoted road safety for all in the state. While this bill passed the Senate, it unfortunately died in the House.
