We supported a variety of legislation which proposed to decriminalize certain drugs entirely or to change the threshold for which the possession of a certain amount of a controlled substance becomes a crime.

Noting the disproportionate and racially discriminatory impact of the criminalization of controlled substances, as well as the inappropriate use of the criminal justice system to address substance use issues, we supported a variety of legislation which proposes to decriminalize certain drugs entirely or to change the threshold for which the possession of a certain amount of a controlled substance becomes a crime. All of these bills died in committee.
