We urged amendment to this bill which authorizes courts to issue restrictive filing orders to protect victims of domestic violence from abusive litigation.

We urged amendment to this bill which authorizes courts to issue restrictive filing orders to protect victims of domestic violence from abusive litigation, noting that the bill needed to be tightened up to comport with the constitutional right of access to the courts which is enshrined in both the state Constitution’s Declaration of Rights as well as the U.S. Constitution. This bill passed and was signed into law.
