The ACLU and others testified in strong opposition to legislation that would require doctors to perform an ultrasound on a woman who has made the decision to abort and explain, in detail, information about the fetus. The bill violates doctors’ free speech rights by forcing them to give this irrelevant information to the woman, and is merely an attempt to harass women seeking to exercise their rights to an abortion.
