Though we appreciate the intentions behind this legislation, which would eliminate the statute of limitations for filing civil suits alleging sexual abuse, we opposed the bill, noting that the complete abandonment of any statute of limitations goes too far and establishes a dangerous precedent for the due process rights of civil defendants. This legislation died in committee.
