Repealing Drivers License Fines (H 5931)

We supported legislation which would provide that individuals could not lose their drivers' license solely because of their failure to pay traffic fines. People who get these fines often face a tough situation: they lose their license because they can't pay the fines, they lose their ability to work because they can't drive, and their loss of a job means that they are not making money that might allow them to pay the fines. This legislation died in committee.
