With artificial intelligence rapidly becoming ubiquitous in governmental decision-making, we supported legislation which would have examined the way that AI is used in our state. Especially as many different types of AI and predictive modeling technologies have been found to exacerbate and perpetuate discrimination, we noted that government scrutiny of AI is particularly warranted to prevent state policy from perpetuating those disparities. This bill died in committee.
