As is true every year, a number of bills were introduced that focused on limiting or protecting a woman’s reproductive rights. A pro-active bill would codify the principles of Roe v. Wade into law. The House bill included more than thirty co-sponsors, the most legislative support for abortion rights that the ACLU has seen in years. ACLU volunteer attorney Lynette Labinger testified in support of the legislation at committee hearings. Though the bills were held for further study, supporters are eager to press for passage of the legislation in 2018.
