LETTER Re: $500 Noise Citations to Protesters in Providence
This letter was sent to the Providence Police Chief asking him to rescind citations that were issued to protesters outside Butler Hospital that provided clearly inaccurate and misleading information. Some protesters were given $500 citations, when a fine for the first violation is $200, a fine for a second violation is $300, and only if a citation is contested in court could a person be issued a fine of up to $500.
