We strongly supported legislation which would require cities and town to disclose basic information on their website about litigation in which they are involved. Having encountered situations where our organization has attempted to get information about the costs incurred by municipalities on certain lawsuits and been told that the municipality didn’t have specific details on those finances, we noted that this bill would promote greater transparency, accountability, and financial stewardship for municipal agencies.
