Noting that this legislation could criminalize the distribution of legitimate educational material with sexual themes to minors; is unnecessary because we already have statutes addressing child pornography; and could actually subject minors who consensually “sext” each other to the same criminal penalties as producers of child pornography, we opposed this bill that purported to prohibit the production and possession of so-called child pornography. This bill died in committee.
