Volunteer OpportunitiesDefending the Bill of Rights is hard work, and while "eternal vigilance is not too high a price," people are needed to maintain that vigilance, every day and in every community across Rhode Island. In addition to higher profile activities at the Courthouse and Statehouse, there is everyday work that must be done in order to support these programs. We always need help doing mailings to keep our members informed, answering phones, doing research, and many, many other tasks. If you are already a member and would like to become actively involved in the ACLU by donating your time, please click here to download our Member Volunteer form. If you are a lawyer and are interested in serving as an ACLU Cooperating Attorney, click here to download our Cooperating Attorney form. Cable Television Show Needs Volunteers! The ACLU's Cable Access TV Show, Rights of a Free People, is in need of volunteers to assist in the taping and production of the program. Tapings take place once a month at the Cox Cable studios in Providence. Volunteers can get involved in all aspects of production, including camera work, direction and editing. Training is provided, and no prior experience is necessary. This is a great opportunity to gain TV production experience while learning about timely civil liberties issues. Call the ACLU office at 401-831-7171 to learn more or sign up! |
