This is the website of the Rhode Island Affiliate, ACLU and the ACLU Foundation of Rhode Island.  Learn more about the distinction between these two components of the RI ACLU.

At the Statehouse

Rhode Island may be the smallest state, but its legislative session lasts longer than most others around the country. During that session, the RI ACLU is there, lobbying your elected representatives on over a hundred bills every year. If you'd like to stay informed about our legislative program, click here to join our legislative E-Alert mailing list. We will send you e-mails about those bills that we need your help with.

You can also go to the Secretary of State's website, www.sec.state.ri.us, to find your elected representative, and to the General Assembly site, www.rilin.state.ri.us, to look at the text of a bill and find schedules for public hearings.

2003-2004 Legislative Voting Record

With the close of the 2003-2004 legislative session, the ACLU of Rhode Island has created a voting record that summarizes each Senator and Representative's votes on a number of bills with civil liberties implications. View the voting record here.
