We opposed a bill which seeks to broaden the current statutory limitations on the implementation of speed cameras by expanding their use from within 1/4 of a mile of a school to 3/4 of a mile. Instead of acting primarily as a safety measure, this technology makes speeding tickets first about making money and second about driver safety. This legislation died in committee.
