Early History of the Rhode Island ACLU
On a balmy Tuesday evening, long-time ACLU members and newcomers alike gathered at Three Sisters, an ice cream parlor on the East Side, to talk about the early years of fighting for civil liberties in Rhode Island. Richard Zacks, an early volunteer attorney with the RI ACLU and Natalie Robinson, the Affiliate’s first executive secretary, led the discussion, and audience members added their own stories.
